The installation method of the car roof rack mainly depends on the type of vehicle and the type of roof rack selected. The following mainly introduces two different common car roof rack installation methods:
1.For car roof racks with reserved screw holes:
First fix the roof rack to the longitudinal rails of the vehicle. When the rack legs are completely loosened, place the cross bars on the longitudinal rails and adjust the span and two sides of the rack legs. Use a tape measure to measure and adjust the spacing between rods repeatedly to ensure that the lengths of the left and right ends of each rod are symmetrical.
Then tighten the legs, two people are required to tighten the cradle at the rod end from both ends simultaneously. Pull the cradle out for a moment, then tighten it clockwise. At the same time, check the clamping condition between the legs and the aluminum rod, and keep symmetrical at both ends.
Install the lock cylinder, use a key or a small screwdriver to remove the lock cover on the crank handle, insert the key into the lock cylinder, push it into the hole and tighten it clockwise. After locking, the crank handle and plug should not be able to be pulled out from the rod end.
Finally, check whether the position and span of the car roof rack are symmetrical. Hold the end of the crossbar and push and pull it in all directions to check for looseness. Make sure that the crank handle and the lock cylinder are in place and can be locked.
2.For adhesive type car roof racks:
Wash the roof thoroughly to make sure it is dry and dust-free. Find a suitable sticking position, symmetrical from front to back, left and right, peel off the tape on the car roof rack, quickly stick it to the car, and press hard for at least 10 minutes to ensure that the glue exerts its best adhesion.
If conditions permit, installation will be better when the ambient temperature is high or when there is sufficient sunlight.
